At the request of the National
Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB), this study was initiated to develop a
comprehensive land policy strategy for Thailand. The study's objectives were to document
and analyze available data on Thailand's current land problems; to formulate and recommend
a national land policy to the government; and to develop strategies for implementing the
recommended policy. The final project report was presented to the National Rural
Development Committee and to the Cabinet, where findings and recommendations were accepted
in principle.
